Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo received his Golden Boot award Wednesday for scoring the most goals in Europe last season.

Cristiano Ronaldo received his third Golden Boot on Wednesday, an award given to him for scoring the most goals in Europe's domestic leagues last season, theAssociated Press reports.
The Real Madrid star shared the honor with Barcelona's Luis Suarez, who spent last season with Liverpool. Both men scored 31 goals, and Suarez accepted his award last month in Barcelona.
Portugal's captain was presented the award Wednesday morning after Real Madrid defeated Liverpool in Champions League play on Tuesday.
"I promise to always give the fans the best on the field," Ronaldo said, via the Associated Press. "My passion, my goals, my assists, my matches. I still have many years left in Madrid."
"A collective effort is important, but so is individual talent, and I work hard to achieve that," he said.
Ronaldo is the highest-paid footballer in the world and has scored 17 goals in nine La Liga games this season.
